The Sri Siddaganga Math in Tumakuru, enabled by illustrious Shiva Yogis, spread effectively the philosophy of the 12th century social reformer Mahatma Basaveshwara in southern Karnataka for several centuries. Steered by the centenarian Sri Shivakumara Swamigalu over the past few decades, it grew into a leading and unique institution in the State, providing education, right guidance, food and accommodation free of cost to lakhs of students from the poorer sections of all communities and religions
